Physical culturists of the early 19th century did not have the luxury of fancy supplements and drugs. Through methodical physical training, proper eating and adequate rest, they achieved amazing physiques, strength, health and athleticism.
Oldtime Physical Culture of the 18th and 19th century is often associated with the men of that era (Macfadden, Sandow, Hackenschmidt, Saxon, etc). Much forgotten, are the strongWOMEN who lifted and performed alongside these men, performing feats of strength that most men today are incapable of achieving. These women were not only strong and athletic, but were also beautiful!
